A little bit about Dr. Vasquez

Well known in his field, Dr. Vasquez has previously held faculty positions at Vanderbilt, Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia and the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison. He has been invited to lecture at scientific and medical meetings throughout the world and has played a key investigative role in numerous research projects in his field. He has also published in multiple peer review journals both nationally and internationally and has co-authored multiple textbooks.

Dr. Vasquez earned his medical degree from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile Faculty of Medicine. After obtaining a World Health Organization research training grant, he was named a National Institute of Health postdoctoral fellow in reproductive endocrinology. He served a research fellowship in reproductive endocrinology at the Medical College of Georgia and did a subsequent OB/GYN residency at the University of Maryland. His fellowship in reproductive endocrinology and infertility was at the C.S. Mott Center for Human Growth and Development at Wayne State University.

Before entering private practice in 1995, Dr. Vasquez served as director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility for Vanderbilt University’s Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. In that position he revitalized the University’s Center for Fertility and Reproductive Research (C-FARR) helping to re-establish its position as a national leader in fertility research and services.

Dr. Vasquez is a diplomat of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and sub-specialty board certified by its Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility. In 1995, Dr. Vasquez entered private practice and opened the Center for Reproductive Health. Since then, his success has been immeasurable and the practice has grown significantly under his direction.

ART Laboratory Accreditation

The ART Laboratory at the Center for Reproductive Health was awarded a certificate of accreditation by the Commission on Laboratory Accreditation of the College of American Pathologists (CAP) in 1996. The accreditation indicates that a laboratory is one of an exclusive group of reproductive laboratories around the country that meet the highest standards of excellence as recognized by its peers.

The Center was advised of this national recognition and congratulated by the Commission for the “excellence of the services being provided”. Since 1996, the Center has obtained recertification through this same organization every two years.

The reproductive accreditation program was inaugurated early in 1993 as a cooperative effort between the CAP and the American Society for Reproductive Medicine (ASRM). The program examines all aspects of quality assurance in the laboratory, including methodology, reagents, quality control, medical equipment, specimen handling, procedural manuals, reports and proficiency testing, personnel, safety, and the overall management principles that distinguish a quality laboratory.

The CAP is a medical society serving more than 14,500 physician members and the laboratory community throughout the world. It is the world’s largest association composed exclusively of pathologists and is widely considered the leader in laboratory quality assurance; CAP is an advocate for high quality and cost-effective medical care.

ASRM is a voluntary non-profit organization devoted to advancing knowledge and expertise in reproductive medicine and biology. ASRM membership includes more than 20,000 clinicians and scientists in the United States and more than 80 other countries.

About The Center

We are proud of our high success rates

With a passionate and experienced staff, our specialty providing first-rate infertility care gives you peace of mind. You can be confident that your road to success will be in good hands at every level. Understanding that patient finances are not limitless; we provide many programs that fit your finances. Our patients have fulfilled dreams that they once didn’t think possible, now it’s your turn.

How We Can Help You

  • A state-of-the-art ASC facility

  • Infertility therapy programs within reach of most financial states

  • Physician and nursing continuity in a private office setting in the Centennial Campus in a major Medical Center.

  • The most advanced In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) technology available, administered by a highly experienced staff.

  • No age limit for patients or their spouses. As with natural conceptions, reproductive efficiency for IVF declines with advancing maternal age. Older women cannot defer participation in IVF. We therefore feel a special obligation toward this patient population.

  • Patients with laparoscopically inaccessible ovaries can have IVF performed with ultrasound-guided oocyte recovery.

  • Patients are provided assistance in obtaining insurance reimbursement for IVF, GIFT and ICSI cycles, although such reimbursement cannot be guaranteed.

  • Embryo freezing (cryopreservation) is available for our IVF patients, and can substantially enhance pregnancy attainment in patients.

  • Epididymal and microsurgical sperm aspiration are available. This is an effective procedure in previous vasectomized males who are either expected to fail through a vas reversal OR in males with significant sperm antibodies. Epididymal sperm aspirations can be done without surgery, without discomfort, much lower expenses and greater success rates.

  • Assisted Zona Hatching is available for our IVF patients, and can substantially enhance pregnancy in patients after age 35.

  • The option of donor eggs is available. A gestational carrier may be an alternative for women who have: 1) no uterus either due to surgical removal or congenital absence, 2) a congenitally deformed uterus, or 3) a medical condition, which precludes them from carrying a pregnancy.

  • Micromanipulation of eggs (intracytoplasmic sperm injection) is performed in our own micromanipulation laboratory to maximize accomplishment of IVF when sperm quality is poor.
